The Hubble Telescope - What Do You Know About a Galaxy?
A galaxy can come in a lot of different forms. It's all of this stuff found together by gravity, which is confusing to us humans who love categorizing things. Edwin Hubble realized that the most distant cepheid variable stars in the Milky Way were much closer to us than those in the Andromeda nebula. So there must be other Milky Way type things, other galaxies, other island universes.
