Parent Teacher Conferences

Parents were used to hearing about diagnostic assessments and reading. But at the time, there weren't a lot of assessments in math. It was like, Oh, and here's their grade. They're doing fine. Or here's the grade they need to do whatever practice or facts or whatever. What I did was describe mathematical behaviors I saw with their student and what they were being asked for in that grade level. And if I were in the classroom today, I would love to have a copy of the DMR right there.
