Why Do We Struggle So Much in the Name of Religion?

Dr. Craig Kagan: There seems to be an issue with this idea of objective good, that there have been numerous crimes in the history of humanity perpetrated on, you know, in the name of religion. But why do we stray so much? He says it's no doubt some deep truth about our nature that we fail to live up to our moral obligations. "Anybody who pretends that everything is well with the world is naive," he says.
