Architecture and Human Rights
Raphael sperry wants architects, and the profession of architecture as a whole, to stop building shoes that are designed for long term solitary confinement. He's not talking about all prisons or jails, just the ones where isolation is baked into the physical structure. Prison management can decide that prisoners could be allowed to go outside in a secure gated area if they wished. The way these prisons are used isn't the only factor in determining what life is like for prisoners.
