If we take, for example, the opening up of new worlds in rena, reconnaissance and discovery is the desire to accommodate information about the new world. And like any society, europeans sought to accommodate it with what they already knew or thought they knew. A such a totalizing view of knowledge is, of course, impossible, and provides an illusory sense of control. I'm to describe how this is not only question of knowledge about antiquity and about deploying that knowledge for a e the contemporary society, but it's also a question of information.
