The Differences Between Science Fiction and Fantasy
When I grew up, there certainly was a distinction between science fiction and fantasy. The main kind of lines of distinction would be science fiction would tend to be more focused on things that are actually possible within the kind of laws of physics as we understand them. Whereas there's a much greater play for things like magic and the supernatural in fantasy which for people who like science fiction kind of rules fantasy out of being a particularly useful way to comment upon society. You do have to be kind of cognizant of the differences and just be cognize of how you're using the worlds that you are using.
