The Fed's Reaction Function on Inflation
For the Fed to react is we need to see a surprise. Inflation is coming down, but it's doing so based on base effects. Equity markets can make new old-time highs and they do even during recessions. The US economy has been rather strong of beating forecasts. Even in a recession, it's not enough to have a recession for everything to collapse. We need things to get really bad.
