Al-Sebaides and the Spartans
Al-Sebaides the great general demands a trial immediately in order to clear his name before the expedition but this is denied to him and so he's forced to leave with his guilt or innocence to be determined after his return. The Spartans now aware of the Athenian plans the expedition then fails first the Athenian navies destroyed and a surprise attack was still in port which is probably the worst case scenario for them. Tens of thousands of Athenians are killed and the captured soldiers are sold into slavery finally the Spartans ally with of all people the Persians they know that their only chance of overcoming the Athenian navy is with the power of a you know stature such as the Persians.
