The First 10 Years of the War
Archidamus marched to two-thirds of the Peloponnesian League's army towards Attica. He seems to still have held out the hope that there wouldn't be a need for conflict. Thebans though had other plans, and presumably under Archidamus' approval, they broke off their contingent from the main coalition in order to join up with the remainder of their army and their cavalry in Boesha. We will return back to the happenings at Plataea shortly.
