Shostakovich's Fugue
Shostakovich uses a fugue, interrupted by what could only be the sound of gunshots. The group huddled together suddenly is forced to try to escape the gunfire. As the violence ramps up, Shostakovich introduces a technique that he took from composers like Mazorski,. All while the fugue subject shrieks away. It also does a brilliant job portraying the scene cinematically.
