This month, one of the largest petroleum spills in modern russian history took place when a thoromo electric power plant in the siberian peninsula spilled due to being built on perma frost that's now melting. I would love to hear more from my russian scientist colleagues on the changes they're seen in the arctic. As we mentioned earlier, an oil spill is incredibly difficult to respond to and manage in the ar Arctic. It does get cold, it can be really foggy.
