Personal networks are the best place to hire, especially when you're early in making your first few hires. Whether you can work effectively with someone or not is a big determiner of your success. So i'd recommend youfo a strict process here, and start with just making a list of every good engineer you know. Doesn't matter if they just sold their company for a billion dollars. Put them on the list, and then pink each and every one person on that list to meet up and commit to asking them if they would join you.
