Twitter is a platform where so much important information, false and otherwise, is spread. I think it's a public responsibility to think of the humans who are being affected by your lofty, grandiose, selfish business endeavors. And i'm not confident that he's going to keep the apple in mind. My fear, if the twitter deal goes through, which it still might not, is that ter is just going to become this cesspool echo chamber reflected in his image. He doesn't owe anyone anything but once you get into public space so deeply you kind of do owe people something.
