In animals you see dominant numbers of any species that run over the others and control everything. But you don't have the sense that comes out of a grandiose self-view, not really. And I think that grandiose narcissism in a lot of ways is it's this fundamental system, the need for power and status or hierarchy that has kind of been hijacked by abuse. The vulnerable narcissists are stuck in a rut because they can't go through life being that way without getting into trouble.
