Is Shaming and Humiliation a Weapon of Addiction?

The burden of adiction falls disproportionately on marginalized groups, both because the notion of ediction is used as weapon and a tool for social control against black and brown people. And we see evidence of the way shameful notions of addiction or weaponized in treatment settings. So i don't really think that shaming and humiliation need to be the causes of shame. Could just be straightforward instruction about how you ought to be.
