How Can We Reverse Engineer Space Time?

I was trying to understand if, for example, we are able to develop technology to win some sort of way, feed our brains with information that they process in a way that they create. Let's say a reality that feels as real as we experience in the, let's say, space-time interface. If what we are perceiving through our brains, I mean, if it comes from some sort of information, we feed it through a computer or some kind of information we get directly through our senses, does it make that much of a difference?
