The top of the spindle seems to shoot up towards those more modern parts of the brain that involve iorder, cognition and abstract thinking. The bottom appears to shoot down deep in the brain toward feelings, emotions,. instinct so perhaps this is what patriko thinks the tetails are a kind of network, a really important one, that allows the different parts of our inner selves to connect.
