The Ascension of Jesus

The ancient and medieval worldview conceived of heaven as a place above, you know, a place up there that you could eventually get to. If we think that way, then we think of the Ascension as Jesus going to the place where he wants all of us to go. So I wonder if on the more ancient or medieval view, it's easier to recognize the goodness of the Ascension that we want Jesus to be glorified. And so it was fitting for Jesus to pioneer ahead of us to the placewhere he wants to bring us eventually, the place of glory.
