Social Media and AI to the Conquistadors
I would think if the AI is doing anything, it's using what it knows about human psychology to try to guilt that person into having a relationship. So even though it might not be a real thinking AI that actually loves the person, it does have all of the techniques of the idealized Skinner box. That's why the piece I just wrote compared social media to the missionaries and AI to the conquistadors. And maybe we'll dive into some of this today. First we'll be inviting Will Up To Speak.
