The Importance of Sworn Oaths
Jesus is talking about a truthful, honest presentation of ourselves to other people. In verse 33 you've heard it said, don't break your oaths but fulfill to the Lord the oath that you have vowed. He's not actually quoting any one law or verse or passage from the Old Testament. But even the examples that he gives are just surface phenomenon.
