The Science of Caloric Restrictions

When I started in this field back in 1997, my focus was mainly on preventing individual diseases. And it wasn't until around 2013 where the science of caloric restriction began to get published quite effectively that we realized there are these pathways, chemical pathways in the body, of aging itself that we can influence. There are about nine or 10 of these aging pathways that have been elucidated by thescience of caloric restriction. Think of an 80-year-old living 16 years longer. That fits with most people's goals nowadays.
