The Politics of Land in Hariana

The Green Revolution which was something that affected Punjab both in Pakistan and in India propelled Hariana from being a backward state to one of the highest GDPs in India. It made massive amounts of money and made the rural agricultural Jart caste very wealthy and also really politically very prominent. That Jart caste has seen a decline of fortune both politically and otherwise from the 80s into the 90s so no longer in Hariana's GDP is agriculture so high in fact what is high is industry, service and and real estate.
