Social Connections May Help You Live Longer
Having friends may even protect your brain, according to scientists. Those with the strongest social relationships had the greatest life expectancy. In a Swedish study, those living alone or without close ties were at greater risk of developing dementia. Even occasional satisfying visits with friends kept the risk down. Professor Pamela Quarter from the University of Manchester explains how reaching out can have real benefits for our mental and physical health.
