There are literally zero dollars of your tax money being spent by NIH or NSF to understand the genetics of human intelligence. The most important thing that differentiates humans from animals is not understudied, and it's 100% for political reasons. All of us have relatives who when they get older suffer cognitive decline. They might suffer Alzheimer's early onset Alzheimer's dementia memory loss. My my in law is actually going through this right now so it's very close to home for me.
