Feeling Good and Looking Good
There's a bunch of things in the category of feeling good. We might use soldier mindset to motivate ourselves, to convince ourselves that this project that we're working on startup is going to succeed as long as we work really hard. And then the category of looking good includes things like artificially inflating our confidence in our beliefs in order to seem confident to other people. So that's just like scratching the surface of the motivations that we have to believe certain things kind of irrespective of whether they're true because they help us feel good or look good. But I think it's important to recognize that we're not engaging in soldier minds because we're stupid. We're doing it for a reason.
