The Importance of Loyalty in Editing

The director goes from the set where he's surrounded by his team and his friends to an editing room where for sure he knows the editor, but everybody else is a stranger to him. And so there needs to be a buildup of loyalty and vision that quite often there's not enough time to do that. "I start out when films were cut on cams and now electronically it's, you know, somebody can be sitting there at the monitor and saying, well, what if we flip these scenes? Well, let's just see what happens."
