How to Keep a Clean Genome

Eukaryotes produce vastly more energy because the energy-producing membranes associated with mitochondria are distributed throughout the cell volume. Greater energy per gene has allowed eukaryotic genomes to undergo dramatic expansion, which probably allows much of the complexity in eukaryotes that we don't see in bacteria and archaea. The only way you could do that would be by lining up a chromosome and if it's got something on that you don't have incorporating that into your genome is called gene loading.
