The Prisoner's Dilemma
The term reputation has been used in different settings in game theory. The early uses really were in the standard complete information repeated games, which is basicall a game that people play again and again with no real end in sight. When i hear this, what i think about is the prisoner's dilemma. In a one short prisoner's dilemma, i have the incentive to rat out the other criminal. If i play a repeated game, both players have the possibility to penalize the other partner for past behavior. And i can gain a reputation of always being faithful to the other party.
