Texas Power Outages - What's Happening in Texas?
In the last few weeks, there have been about four and a half million people who have been left without power for a sustained amount of time in Texas. John Darling: The obvious culprit is the fact that a lot of the energy capacity of Texas is connected to solar and wind and these just don't blow. These just don't work during the times when you need them the most. But I think perhaps mining could play a role in improving the reliability of fossil fuels by allowing places like Bitcoin miners an extra little bit of excess fuel which they usually use to build their machines.
