The Australian Press Reaction to Gillard's Speech
The Australian press reaction was very critical it's been a decade since Gillard made her speech. Despite gaining praise for it she wasn't able to capitalize on it to secure her own position as prime minister. She didn't run for office again often when people talk to her they bring up her famous speech resentfuls possibly going a little bit too far but i'm proud of it and proud of the role that i think it's playing in some ways in people's lives julie i'm amazed that when people talk about my political career it apparently all came down to one speech," says Julia Gillard.
