Is It Possible to Falsify a Theory?
Is it possible to falsify a theory? papa always has this this retort to induction. Well, i don't think popper ever said with one instance. It has to be a repeatable instance. But foffer is surely right that after all attempts to am, say, the theory have failed and there's a better competitor in theavailable and so on,. then fort all intents and purposes, a theory can be regarded as falsified. That'sat i would say not. I think it's probably what i said in the books, there is a lingering challenger, an lingering problem. Not quite sure what that is now yet.
