How Do Jellyfish Shape Shift?
The process of tadpoles turning into frogs is an example of what scientists call metamorphosis, which is basically another word for shape shifting. Jellyfish start off as free swimming larvae and then become adult jellyfish before settling down on the seabed to live a totally different kind of life. In fact, our next guest, Ali Sparks, describes the cuddlefish which is another sea creature that is shape shifting royalty.
