The Importance of Grief
Grief requires us to be in our bodies and what grief is asking to do is simply pass through. But lots of times a person isn't connected with this body. So no wonder warnings about the larger body don't make any sense. That's why so many people have so much ungrieved grief because it's asking for expression. And we fight it, numb it, resist it, repress it. Or as my son Preston says, if you hold a ball underwater, it will come back at you with increased force.
