Waukesha is a Republican stronghold. Most of the people you encountered had voted Republican all their lives and had voted for Trump. But opinion was very mixed on whether they would vote for him again. These were not sort of die-hard MAGA supporters. The people I spoke to were certainly disillusioned by Trump and disillusioned by his legacy in Wisconsin.
