Compendia 01: How Can God Move the Will Infallibly and Yet Contingently?
Sed Contra: A Podcast of Catholic Theology
St. Thomas's Question: Does Any Object Move the Will of Necessity?
St. Thomas asks whether any object moves the will necessarily in article 2 here of question 10. And he says that his answer is that no, none of the objects that a human being might encounter would move the will of necessity. Now why is that? Because the objects that we see are usually good in some way. But they're also maybe lacking in goodness in some other way. So just as the actually colored is the object of sight, so is good the object of the will.
