How to Use Silence in Negotiations
On every sales call that I have, I bring either a hot cup of tea or I bring a cup of water. When there's a moment when I want to employ silence, what I do is I take a sip of water. Like, I think it signals to the other person. It's your turn to talk. Because I've got water in my mouth. I'm not like trying to get a word in. And so have the cup of tea. And then you can focus your energy on like, drinking the tea. But that is how I try to use silence.
