The Trans Community Is a Good Place to Start

"So many people who aren't marginalized at all do not get on with their families and it creates this feeling of such intense loneliness," she says. "If we could learn something from the ballroom community in particular but the trans community who were forced to have to learn how to do this because they were otherwise and ostracized." She continues: "These people got me and understood me and respected my boundaries in a way that I that makes me feel so safe and so at home"
