After 1908 revolution, Mustafa Kemong would stress liberation of women as part of a new secularist society. Young Turks often made the case for their ideology in newly launched magazines and journals. Author Fatma Aliye knew that increased access to education would make all the difference. Some argued that this would corrupt girls by making them inappropriately masculine.
