Universal Jurisdiction Criminal Indictment
I think the government was glad to get rid of this case overruling the prosecutor. The prosecutors wanted it because it seemed to make sense to me. And we've seen a repeat performance of this type of dynamic sense. None of them went to court, but there were attempts to prosecute to launch investigations against Israeli leaders in a variety of jurisdictions. In all cases, the pro-Arab slash Palestinian complainants identified countries which either had a wide universal jurisdiction. Or had cases where judges had wide authority to issue arrest warrants under local legislation. So they were looking for the holes in the net where they could come in and file what I would view as generally unsubstantiated complaints that are highly politicized
