The Challenges of Treatment Over Objections
There are definitely ethical challenges because you have over here a confrontation between two major ethical principles in bio ethics, principle of autonomy. Adult patients have a right to decide what should or should not be done to them. And just because a patient is felt to lack capacity does not mean that they forfeit their rights as a human being. There is also the principle of non maleficence.
