Finding Objective Quality or Objective Lack of Quality in Art

I'm usually not going to publicly review something I didn't like because I don't see any point. But the other rule that I always try to follow is to think about who the audience is. Different things are successful for different reasons for different audiences, which is exactly what you're talking about. A movie that does not work for me at all, but does work for somebody else doesn't mean it's bad. The fact that I dislike it doesn't make it bad, it just means that wasn't really for me necessarily.
