The Power of Self-Care

The author was shocked to learn that when you go get your passport photos taken at any passport Photoshop, that they automatically photoshop them. There were constant before after photos everywhere, where I was sold on this notion that if you didn't look good enough, your body was malleable and you could fix it to look better. We are seeing culture increasingly self-care as sheet masks or multi-step skincare regimens - ways to aesthetically upgrade yourself to whatever the standards are of the day.
