Nemal: Maybe that tradition of, in this case, scientism, isn't as hegemonic as we'd like to believe. With nemal still denying things like a covet or climate change, maybe the tradition that's attached to those is not as strong as it used to be. And then he sort of ends the introduction talking about the nation state, which he writes about extensively elsewhere. Also, he says, we should not be misled by a curious but understandable paradox. The modern nations and all their impediment generally claim to be the opposite of novel, namely rooted in the remotest antiquity," Nemal said.
