The Importance of Smaller Knobs on EQs
I'm curious to know just how accurate that kind of stuff is on a front panel, how accurate the calibration of those things are. I mean, I don't expect it on a switched unit where you might be talking,. gain staging on a preamp, and maybe on some high-end EQs. But I bet the rest of it's kind of pretty just arbitrary and they just don't whatever fits in. So when you have something which is more raw and more kind of, it comes with the sound because you only have a three band EQ and no compressor - so your mix will sound different.
