Hume married a woman named Elizabeth Dite in November of 1825 so about 10 months after they got back. He also headed up several additional expeditions like this and then he became magist, a magistrate and yes, a position that he served in for decades right up until his death on April 19 1873 at the age of 75. Despite being 11 years older than Hume huddle outlived his colleague and frenemy he died on November 9 1875 at the aged of 89. They just kind of see the bad each other. Today there are multiple monuments to the two of them and their expedition in various places in Australia. And if there's an afterlife they're probably bickering
