Thomas Aquinas: A Systematic Thinker
Thomas Aquinas never wrote anything one could really call an essay, a couple of polemical pieces being the closest thing he ever did making use of that form. His work on like Chesterton's does not wander, but follows a path he charts out clearly and to which he sticks. That said, while their style of writing was so different, Chesterton, it seems to me, learned a great deal from Thomas.
