The Importance of World Building
I world build until I have reached an interesting question. For a given story arc. An interesting question, an interesting character twist,. something that I feel like I could explore for an entire book. And then I begin outlining the story. Usually within the outline process, I'll realize, oh, I need to answer some more questions. With Schlock Mercenary, I am often appending to the world building, adding politics or whatever.
