Is China Compensating With Immigrants?
Given the low fertility rate, could China compensate by inviting immigrants to boost the working age population? Paul Hodges: It's a lovely idea, but I don't think it's practical. You've got to compensate for 150 million people getting much older to bring in 150 million. Where would you get out of the 50 million from? But if you have an aging population, you don't need property speculation. If you look at China's GDP numbers,. anybody who looks at them seriously, realizes they are fake.
