The Importance of Honoring Your Parents

Ephesians 6:1 says children honor your parents and the Lord for this is right, honor your father and mother. This is the first commandment with a promise. So honor your mother and father and you will have a long life. Honor doesn't mean do exactly what they say. It's more about the way that you're treating them rather than just rebelling or being like, no, I'm not going to listen to you.
