Structure in a Speech or Presentation

Structure is important. You can do some clever things to signal what's coming next and do mini summaries as you go. Volume is another thing you can play with. I might get loud at certain points. And I certainly change my speed. But the big pauses you've got a plan for, the three seconders, when you need to know where they're going to be. So force yourself to count your one, two, three filler words. It won't feel as uncomfortable or unfulfilling if you use them all.
